Other Avalon
Avalon Opus
The speaker which has most similarities to the Avalon Opus Ceramique, is the Avalon Opus. Its enclosure has the same dimensions, and contains the same tweeter and midrange unit, but instead of a Thiel an Eton bass unit. Furthermore, instead of a vent, a bass speaker is applied in the bottom of the enclosure. Several curves of the Opus have been published, showing similar response as the Opus Ceramique in the midrange and treble region. From the curves it is obvious that different measurement techniques have been applied (mic position, smoothing, grill), giving another impression of the treble response.

A picture of the 4-way filter gives an idea of its size:

Avalon Eidolon
Another speaker that uses the same tweeter and midrange, is the Avalon Eidolon, implying the response in the midrange/treble areas shows quite some similarities. It differs in the bigger enclosure size and the use of a big Eton woofer.

For the Eidolon, also near-field curves have been measured and published. From these measurements seems that the speaker is optimized using the near-field response, and the baffle-step is not accounted for explicitly in the filter design.
