Acknowledgments
This project has been performed using the help of many people. Without their help, enthusiasm, and fun, this project would never have reached its current status. The amount of people involved makes one thing clear: it is great fun to be part of the DIY world!
Gydotron. In 2003, when listening to the Avalon Opus Ceramique speakers at the VAD hi-fi show in the Netherlands, my good friend Gydotron offered me to build look-a-like speaker cabinets. I wouldn't be capable to do this myself because of the lack of tools and experience. A new milestone was defined!!!
Luc Heijligers, my cousin, part of the project, whose active approach, practical help, enthusiasm and feedback keep things going well!
Korneel Wijnands, joined the project in a later stage, and helped constructing filters.
Paul Vancluysen has developed beautiful filters, and through our intensive discussions we keep learning about the art and engineering of loudspeaker design.
Peter van Vegchel borrowed me his measurement equipment, so I could start wondering about the secrets of speaker design and its unexpected surprises.
Rob Dingen performed measurements in his ht-room together with Bart van Hout, designed some filters and helped us with their experience.
Okke Ouweltjes Measured the units in the Milestones cabinets in an anechoic room, and designed a very nice filter for us.
Jon Mark Hancock designed a filter, and provided a lot of useful advice on the htguide forum.
Hans Laros gave digital filtering a try, to get an impression about trade-offs between crossover frequencies, slopes and notch filters. A follow-up is in the air.
Tony Gee sent me the curves of the Thiel speaker unit measurements, which allowed me to start simulating filters in an early stage of the project. Tony, amongst others, also inspired me to start with series filtering.
John Eekels, Frank Dekkers, Herman Siersema, Marcel Kieffer, Peter Michiels and Wout Berggren for providing (financial support for) filter components, giving some relief to the finances required to perform all the experiments.
And many many other people not mentioned explicitly, who've also contributed or inspired me in any other way... Thanks to all!!!
